Especially after 1 March 2003 decision of the Turkish Parliament on Iraq, many American commentators began to question the loyalty of Turkey to the U.S. After this date, the relations between them seemed to zigzag.

There have been very different scenarios for the Turkish-U.S. relations since Turkey began to become a regional power in the Middle East. In the recent years, the debate of 'axial dislocation' on Turkish foreign policy has been on politicians/commentators/columnists/ policy makers' agenda. In parallel to these debates, differences between the agenda of Turkey and U.S. on the Middle East led to come disaster scenarios about the Turkish-U.S. relations into existence.
